TPLO Surgery for Torn Cruciate Ligaments

Board-certified surgeons. Discounted price.
A torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) is the dog version of a torn ACL, and it is one of the most common reasons a dog limps on a back leg. Left untreated, the unstable knee can lead to arthritis.
TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) changes the angle of the top of the shin bone so the knee stays stable without the torn ligament. The bone is held with a plate and screws while it heals.
Signs of a torn cruciate ligament:
Limping on a back leg, which may come and go.
Trouble getting up from sitting.
Trouble jumping into the car or onto the couch.
Less interest in walks or play.
After TPLO, activity is limited for several weeks while the bone heals. You go home with instructions for recovery.
